EGPS Sports Day 2010

On the 30th April 2010, the pupils, staff, SAC, PTA Members, parents and Guest-of-Honor were at the Woodlands Stadium to witness the annual Sports Day Celebration.

This event celebrates a learning journey of character building and bring the Spirit of Olympism alive.
Through the many weeks of training, values such as team work, self-discipline, respect and most of all sportsmanship were fostered.

In the early morning, we gathered at the parade ground according to our house colors.

We were very lucky that the weather was very good. :)

Together with the teachers, we were chauffeured to the Woodlands sports stadium

Upon arrival, everyone of us got busy. Here’s some of the photos of us busy at work.

Mr Ang and Mr Tan setting up the Color Flags

The score board done up by the fabulous team with Ms Koh.

Mrs Lau gathering the competitors, taking attendance.

Ms Chan getting the competitors to give their muscles a good stretch!

The beautiful hosts: Mrs Ramesh and Mr Huzaifah. Alot of people would be lost without their vocals.

Meanwhile, the Mascots of the different houses were getting ready~

Mr Pillay with the Yellow House Mascot.

The teachers from the chinese department with the Green House Mascot.

Teachers of the Red house with the Red House Mascot.

The Purple House Mascot

The Blue House Mascot

The Banners looked gorgeous too!

Soon it was time and Ms Ong declared the Event open with a “BANG!”

So begins the march past~

The competitors got ready at their spot.

At the sound of Mr Majeed’s fire,

its blast off!

Individual,

Teamwork!

We had a Parent Teacher race as well!

Not forgetting the rest of the crowd, they play their role while the competitors run.

*Thanks goes to Mdm Naisah member of the PTA who help out the cheerleading for the Yellow House.

Mrs Chue with the blue house in the background.
Our heartfelt thanks also goes out to Mr Roy Tan and Mr Peter Hall from the SAC and the PTA respectively for gracing the event.

Its not about winning the race, its about finishing the race.

As the hot sun rises nearing the noon, the event comes to a close.
