Day 2
Malacca Day 2, Happening day!
Day 2,
woke up early because I want to capture the morning sunrise.
But well, wrong direction… the direction that my photographing site wasn’t facing the sunrise…
1st photo gave me a shock!
Its blurred,

Blurred in a very artistic way though.
This is my first DSLR, and the temperature in the hotel room was really low. The lens kinda got misted.
took some time for it to warm up to the temperature in the atmosphere.
Anyway, no sunrise doesn’t matter, the clouds with the sunlight was stunning~ This was 6.45am in the morning.

The mountains looked stunning. Absolutely

Birds…

After the photography site affair in the hotel, its time to march forth to the touring site.

First stop, got to turn backwards to the St Peter’s church where we passed by on arrival.
Was still snapping along the way. Hospital, 7-11, walkway, One way road… need not mention, clouds.
Here we are:

Seriously, the night before I was still speaking to myself, wanting to catch the buildings with the sunlight above them.
hope you’ll be able to appreciate it the way I do.
*don’t laugh at me if you don’t…

Ar yes, language lesson,
IN:

OUT:

Mass in the morning,

I went.

having done with the Chapel, its time to continue.
Familiar site, important building to recognize.

PheWeEE!

Then I saw this!!!

HEYHEY! SPiKES! Its Western design!!! (why am I so excited? Cos I’m alone, and I’ve got no idea if I’m approaching the sites anytime soon. Don’t wanna take out a map consistently cos that’s a SURE sign that I’m not local.)
Yup, church.
As I was crossing the road, noticed some sights.
Low price motel with wireless café at the ground floor,

Taking flight!

Good Day Mate~

Ah yes, this is a good sight.

Here’s where the spikes came from,

Oki, no gates open, no doors open. Lets move on.

Nice!

It was a cobbler that was inside. J

Ar yes, the Malacca river,

Old school roof

Selamat Pagi~

Obviously not a couple

They’ve got wireless facilities too

Then I saw this!!!

Snap snap snap, trying to get the correct angle.

Hey hey, I’m in the piece of art! (went passed on Day 2, think the owner removed the mirror, wonder if it got to with me
)
And finally I arrived.

The only piece of image I remember from my 3 hour trip to Malacca when I was below 10years old. A big red church building.
(visited my relative in Kluang and they drove us up.)

Shots,

Entrance to the Church,

As usual, can enter, cannot take photo.
Respect. Bought stuff for my loved ones.
I knew my next stop would be St. Paul’s Fort, but I’ve got totally no idea how to get there. Don’t know why, didn’t think of asking. Just continued walking…

Passed by this abandoned building

Carried on walking, then saw this flight of steps. Was just hoping that it would lead me to the fort, so claimed the steps.

Then I saw this!
MeoW~

Oh, so it was an abandoned Art Gallery
Claimed the steps only to a closed gate. Saw the sign, “Gates opened from 8.30am to 5pm.” Checked the time, it says 9am +. :/ oh well…
So turned around to go back to the church building to continue walking from there.
Passed by another gate and pushed my camera in. Snapped this photo:

Do you know why the gate became like that?

Bcos curious people got their way in.
I’m also curious…

See the green on the floor, its really long since someone stepped in I believe.
the better part of me says to turn back, not to explore too much.
Continued my way back to the red building

After asking for direction from the people in uniform, passed by the BOMBA truck

And a bulldozer called “Oliver”

Opps! Hole in the road, How?

They are smart people,

Two stones semi-solved the problem.
Yes, very important place, *MATA! MATA!

I saw that ship structure thing above the roof of the Police Post and I thought that something interesting awaits.
And next to it, Taming Sari Tower

I kept walking, then I saw this!

Hey Hey! That’s where I want to go!
When I first saw the image of the fort online, I was very intrigued. I’m always caught by this kind of old brick structure.
Oh, steps to climb…

Caught this two pods on the steps, took a photo of it,

Realized that it looked like a painted picture

Like Christmas wonderland
Got to the end of the steps and was so excited! Why?
Because I saw the sights!

Can you see the row of houses? Can you see the horizon!!!
I thought the treat was just the fort, I got more than I bargain for!

Took numerous photo. See Facebook album~
I think I was really very excited, cos a random stranger shouted out “You should see the sunset!”
OPPS!
too loud ![]()
I replied, “then I’ll be back for sunset!”
Oki, LOTS of photos of that site, from that view.
that ship thing,

Its called the maritime museum
and no I didn’t go. The whole trip, I didn’t step into any of the museum I think.

St Paul with the fort. I think his hand is missing…
The man in black is the random stranger.
Ivan.

Oki, some Postcard worthy photo of the port. *at least from my point of view. *dont just save and runaway, let me know, or credit them to my blog~

Decided to leave the place rather than stay while waiting for sunset, J

To A’ famosa
View from afar

2 children screaming down to their parents, “Faster! Faster!”

Here we are,

The insides of A’famosa

Entrance to Melaka Sultanate’s Place

A cute father-son couple, the father made the sound effect “Poom!”

Passby their House of Torture

They must be looking at something interesting.
Kept walking

Old school Merry-Go-Round

A different view of the path up to St Paul’s Hill

Hmm… UMNO also got museum.
Oh well, Its Malaysia and they truly have gone a long way back. (briefly came across them when I was doing my “O” levels History subject)

Back on the path next to the River

Chirp, Chirp, Chirp

And I snapped, then I realize, its black crow’s nest, lets not stay for long.
Passed by some old school shops

Snap snap

Went into a coffeeshop to eat lunch

OLD SCHOOL…
Yes, chendol on a hot hot afternoon…

OLD SCHOOL…
I got back to the hotel and slept the afternoon away…
Then it was back at the St Paul’s Hill

Had an elevator moment before this shot. (have you seen the show “You’ve got mail.”?) Got to print a copy of this picture and write it down.
Sunset… It was all well-worth the wait

The sunlit horizon totally took my breath away…

Sets shot at about 5mins interval. I wonder why the last photo is always non-routine.
(starts at 5.57pm)

(starts at 6.18pm)

(starts at 6.32pm)

and the day’s done. At least I thought.
Was crossing the road when I saw this!

Continued to buy dinner for the day.
Remember Day1’s night visit?

Chicken Rice Ball~

Got the urge to pamper myself

Of course, these are a must

Was getting ready to shower when I realize, I was sunburnt ![]()
and its a very distinctive line at the sleeves.
Oki, end of Day 2.
Where was God in day 2? God was in the lady that invited me to the mass.

Day 1
Malacca Day 1 – Checking in
WoHOH! Malacca! Holiday!
Its magnificent considering the year that I have been through and the year that is coming up. Woo…
And this trip is a little different cos I got myself a DSLR, (that’s in exchange for a plane ride).
Got myself tickets with Grassland express. Caught that idea through all the TV advertisement.
At first was thinking of going to JB for hotel stay, then think think realize that what the heck, I might as well travel a little and stay a little further. Hence I got to Malacca.
Looked up some travel books, don’t really know whats gonna happen, hows things gonna be.
Just knew that I had to get those tickets and get myself out of Singapore.
So here I am!
Did plenty of research and online reviews to choose a hotel. Good reputation, internet access, reasonable price. Decided on Bay View.
Went to Grassland to make arrangement, got the coach tickets, but lo-and-behold. They’ve got no vacancy at Bay View Hotel… Need to switch over to Renaissance then…
Kinda stuck, but I know I got to go.
So out comes the 439 bucks and I got whisk away to Malacca, Renaissance.
What they show on TV with regards to Grassland’s coaches is very true, really very comfy and can tilt one… Plenty of leg space

The only not so good side… its bad when u get the last 2 seats, that is directly next to the portable toilet. ![]()

I only realize that we can adjust the feet supporter at the last hour of the ride…

Ar… yes, Tuas linkway…

PC140196
Soon enough, we began to see mountains. Nope, not hills like in SG

And also the very important cables

Then off the toll and we hit town, first batch of people got off, then we pass by the 1st place of interest that I was really keen about,

Need not mention, the very important provision shop…

Oki, those photos you’ve seen thus far are from my Olympus. From here on, it be from my new Nikon. Hey Hey~
Had to wait for my room to be ready when I arrived. So I strolled up to their bistro. Had a good chat with the recept and one of the servers there, walked in, got a seat ready to sit when…
BLACKOUT…
Well, just the night before daddy kinda forced me to bring torchlight along.
Sure comes to handy. Yup, elders are wise at times.

Nice?
Didn’t want to order at first, cos don’t wanna eat in the dark, wanna wait until the light comes around then order. After snapping, asked, realized that they don’t know whens it gonna come back on. Felt comfortable with the candlelight so decided to order. Ordered.
Soon after, the server came to speak to me, oki, not suppose to take photographs. Then I heard him being called, his boss gave him a pep talk. He came back and request to bring me over to the Chinese restaurant where there’ll be light. I obligated.
Went over to the Chinese restaurant, settled in. Soon enough, food came. But guess what…
BLACKOUT… the second time.
Hai… dunno why, emotions welled up… on the verged of crying…
Didn’t want to speak for a while. But the servers were smart. Made arrangement for food to be sent to my room. Got up to my food, and settled in. Still charged for the same price. With complimentary fruit though…
I like my room, high floor, had a good view.

See more pretty photos on my facebook account.
Checked with the recept, Internet charges: RM20+ per hour, RM50+ per day…
Nope, decided not to engage the facilities. Their toothbrush n toothpaste set has to be requested. Same goes for the bathroom slippers. But well, they do have nice pillows.
That’s how it works, the bus would drop you off at the entrance of the hotel, and you will settle the rest on your own.

Quick, guess what these photo show:

Oki oki, a clearer one.

Its Nightview from my room~

It was drizzling but I couldn’t miss the shots, so took an umbrella and went out to the nearest open space that I could find, caught this.

See facebook for more~
From where I was standing, I thought I could hear some Chinese sounds busting from the bottom floor.
Perhaps it was hunger ba, decided to go down to get food and explore a little. Its def before 9pm ![]()
Food…

There was a char kuay tiao cart, didn’t tot of taking photos,
didn’t ask. But took that though.
Young man…

Spike hair. Even in Malacca. Haiz… trends travel everywhere.
Oh, this was very old school:

Then went back, snap snap at the lobby,

That was the end of day 1.
Where was God at Day 1? He was at the restaurant, when I almost couldn’t help myself.
Be Bless
Love,
Amanda
