WDL Checkpt (Exposureshot)

Went out to play with Exposure shot the other day, pretty late in the night.

I live a small distance to the Woodlands Checkpoint.
I know I’ll be able to shoot some nice exposure shot of the Linkway. And so I did.

Shooting with my Tommy! (Nikon D3000)

Experimented, so heres to share the experience. :)

Having learnt to play with the manual settings through the Tiger Tower during the recent Sentosa Spring Fest shoot, I had a good time. :D

Aperture!

Control Photo: P 1/5 F5.6 ISOHi1 55MM (Photo at site, using program mode)

Test 1: M 20 F13 ISOHi1 55MM

Test 2: M 2O F22 ISOHi1 55MM

Test 3: M 20 F36 ISOHi1 55MM

so hmm… Note to self: Aperture must increase…

Exposure compensation!

Control Photo: M 20 F36 ISOHi1 55MM

Test 1: M 20 F36 ISOHi1 55MM EXPOSURE -1.0

Test 2: M 20 F36 ISOHi1 55MM EXPOSURE +0.7

Dont see much difference… probably the spot light coming from the items on the right hand side becoming sharper?

and I tried again.

Control Photo: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM

Test 1: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM EXPOSURE +1.0

Test 2: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM EXPOSURE -1.0

Still not happy, try again~

Control Photo: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM

Test 1: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM EXPOSURE -1.0

Test 2: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM EXPOSURE -2.0

Test 3: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM EXPOSURE +1.0

Do you see anything? *scratch head…

ISO!

Test 1: M 20 F36 ISOHi1 55MM

Test 2: M 20 F36 ISO1600 55MM

Test 3: M 20 F36 ISO800 55MM

M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM

Test 4: M 20 F36 ISO200 55MM

Test 5: M 20 F36 ISO100 55MM

Through shooting candlelight during my malacca trip I always thought that night shots must be high ISO. But hey… guess not really.
ISO400 apparently looks the best.
What we need is a steady hand, or tripod in this case.

Then I became curious, I wondered if Aperture and ISO would have an influence on each other?

Control Photo: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM

Test 1: M 20 F10 ISO400 55MM

Test 2: M 20 F20 ISO400 55MM

Test 3: M 20 F29 ISO400 55MM

Test 4: M 20 F36 ISO400 55MM

Apparently with ISOHi1, F36 looks good,
but ISO400, F20, F29 looks better than F36 (in my opinion)

hmm…

Then suddenly I heard track sound, very noisy, I was like “Could it be the train?” o_O?
It is It is!!! (P 1/3 F5.3 ISO1600 40MM)

Its on the right side of the causeway.

:D

oki oki, lets throw away all that analytical stuff and just enjoy the sight shall we?

:)

Be Bless
Love,
Amanda
