Last Saturday, 16th Jan 2010 was my elder sister’s big day.
It was a good celebration filled with tons of relatives, cheer and pretty people. 🙂
Pardon the inconsistency in photo quality, used my iPhone in-order to tweet live, used my DSLR bcos I want good quality photos, used my Point-n-shoot cos I cant carry my DSLR and run around in that gown 😀
As usual, let the photos do the talking.

Oh departure, the bride has to throw away a fan and take another one.
Was very curious so I went online to check, Interesting responses…
i know the throwing of fan.. in hokkien, it is pronounced as “sin”, same like “surname”..
throwing the fan=throwing away ur surname, whereby bride throw, mother of bride has to pick it up…
From Traditional Culture in China
Throwing a Fan
When the bridal car sets off, the bride throws a fan out of the window, which means avoiding taking her bad temper with her to her parents-in-law’s home. Then the fan is picked up by the bride’s brother.
then why a new fan?
It was said to be an effective tool for the bride to cover herself in-cases along the way there were other affairs that shouldnt be seen by her. *of course there be plenty of other people on the lookout for her.
y so serious? cos the chinese believe in blessings and protection from above.
