Co-opaliciouz!

Oh YEAH! It’s Co-opaliciouz! Finally the big event has arrived! 😀 All the hard work… All the past blogposts, all the running around.
But I wonder, how many of us really know what’s the point of having Co-opaliciouz, or even what’s the point of attending Co-opaliciouz? Was it just because we have little cousins and nieces, or son and daughters involved in the reading of “A Very Big Storm”?

Co-opaliciouz (pronounced Co-op-a-licious) is a family day initiative that brings together Co-operative members and members of the public to celebrate of the International Year of the Co-operatives 2012.

What’s International Year of Co-operatives 2012 meant for? Why was it declared?

International years are declared by the United Nations to draw attention to and encourage action on major issues. The International Year of Cooperatives is intended to raise public awareness of the invaluable contributions of cooperative enterprises to poverty reduction, employment generation and social integration. The Year will also highlight the strengths of the cooperative business model as an alternative means of doing business and furthering socioeconomic development.

So Ladies and Gentleman, if you have taken part in Co-opaliciouz, you have just celebrated the contribution of Cooperatives in the world.

Take for example, NTUC FairPrice, a chain of supermarket. Did you know they are a co-operative too? They help in moderating the price of a basket of goods. Question! What do you do when the convenience stall near your house sells a bag of rice way more expensive than what you would normally find at NTUC FairPrice? You’ll naturally go there to buy it isn’t it? See, that way, with demand-and-supply principle in action, prices are moderated and kept in affordable range. That is a demonstration of the strengths of the cooperative business model as an alternative means of doing business and furthering socioeconomic development. *thumBs UP!

Alright, back to Co-opaliciouz!

So there I was running around with my DSLR trying to capture moments of people enjoying themselves, trying to capture photos of people hard at work.

It was nice seeing the change from what it was to how it is on that day.

and After!

TADA! So many people right? Luckily for the people at level 1, there were screens that does the life streaming of activities happening around.

We started off with Flag-off at Tanjong Rhu,

😀 Guess what, the affiliates were so excited that they stood position before the Start Line. 😀 Our Master of Ceremony had to direct them back to the right place.

The Right Room w AsiaRooms.com

Went by to Klapson Hotel near Tanjong Pagar MRT station for The Right Room Experience with AsiaRooms.com

Oh just the recept of the Klapson Hotel is WOH~
When was the last time you see a reception counter of a boutique hotel as funky as this?

Pretty cool huh?

Besides the idea of being chauffeured in a Limo, we were given a good time of Manicure, Back Massage, Shoulder Massage and great food.

Alright, raise your hands if you could do with a nice Back or Shoulder Massage right now.

I know right! Working in Singapore, Everyday is a mad rushed, or being forced to slow down by the MRT Trains and hicupps in traffic. All of us deserve a good vacation.

Speaking of vacation, “The Right Room” is AsiaRooms.com ‘s current concern.
The Right Room for your vacation.
To me, its about having that Safe in the cupboard of somewhere that allows me to safely keep stuff when I’m not around, having that carpeting, having that right lighting. Whats yours?

Tell you something really weird about my vacation, since I often travel alone, I’m often back in the hotel room by 9pm.
I believe vacation is about resting, so you can find me spending hours and hours sleeping away or reading a book in the hotel room.
I’m weird. 😀 Shopping isn’t my thing. Sight Seeing yes.
Its absolutely important to come back to a room where its like a comfort zone away from home.

SO So! AsiaRooms is looking for people to help them review hotel rooms!
Yup, You and your friend. Keen?
– Top Holiday Destination, The Hotels and the nearby attractions
– $10,000 Cash and Prizes

Or check out facebook.com/asiarooms to find out more~

I would absolutely love to take part, but I started full-time tuition, cant just drop children’s education like that…

How about you?

GO if you can! 😀

TOTD 30/3/12 – Titanic: Artifact Exhibition

Happened to be watching Channel News Asia and the clip on Titanic’s artifact’s auction came on.

This baker’s hat belonged to William Hine, a third baker on the Titanic. His name is embroidered on the brim.

When I saw this hat, I was like “Oh its so puffy.” and then “Why would anyone wanna bid for that?”
Well, the person can be a very wealthy and influential Baker or a big Somebody in the Pastry industry.

But what really strike me was, “Perhaps its about having a piece of History.”
or just having experienced a part of it.

Its no big deal. In-fact (having experienced a part of it) is not a need, its just a want.

OTO e-Shape

Went by to OTO’s e-Shape’s launch and had the chance to try out the product.

Super bling isnt it? 😀
But more than just a nice item,

The new e-Shape is equipped with a unique technology that is based on both acupuncture points and sports science. Users can look forward to detoxification and a healthier digestive system as the e-Shape uses high and varying oscillating speeds to stimulate certain acupressure points on the body.

Designed for a younger and trendier generation, the OTO e-Shape is a sleek and stylish slimming belt that can be attached to different parts of the body – arms, shoulder, abdomen, back, waist, hips, thighs, calves – to be massaged. Contrary to the perceived notion that all slimming belts are large and unwieldy contraptions, the e-Shape comes in a compact design to allow users to carry it around in their bags and even use it while driving or in the comfort of their homes.

The bloggers had the chance to try to bling up our version of the e-Shape, oh mine is so far fetch!
